How to restore the deformation of EPDM rubber sealing ring?
The deformation of EPDM rubber seal ring is divided into two types: recoverable deformation and unrecoverable deformation. Recoverable deformation means slight deformation, such as slight twisting, twisting, and curling; non-recoverable deformation means severe deformation, such as creases and breaks. The slightly deformed EPDM rubber sealing ring can be used normally after its shape is restored, and the sealing function will not be lost.
However, the severely deformed EPDM rubber sealing ring will fail to seal and cannot be used normally even after its shape is restored. The EPDM rubber sealing ring will be slightly deformed if stored for a long time. So how should the deformation of the EPDM rubber seal ring be restored?
First take out the deformed EPDM rubber sealing ring, boil a pot of water, and pour it into the container. After pouring boiling water into the container, put the EPDM rubber seal ring into the boiling water to soak. After soaking for a few minutes, take out the EPDM rubber sealing ring and pull it with your hand. After pulling it, it is enough to restore the elasticity, so that the EPDM rubber sealing ring will return to its original shape.
In short, the choice of EPDM O-ring should be done well, its friction coefficient must be low, lubrication must be in place, and its contact surface must be smooth, not rough or stained. During the installation process, the coaxiality of the installation must be ensured, and the eccentricity must not be too large. At the same time, the rationality of the sealing system must be ensured. There must be no excessive dimensional error that causes the deformation of the EPDM rubber sealing ring.
