When solid Teflon® (PTFE) O-Rings are not an option due to their inherent lack of "memory", Teflon® encapsulated O-Rings are a viable option Teflon® encapsulated Viton® O-Rings consist of a seamless and uniform PTFE FEP/PFA encapsulation jacket which completely encloses a fluoroelastomer Viton® core The marriage of the two materials offers the excellent chemically inert properties of Teflon® on the outer covering, and the memory of the rubber core it encapsulates. The combination of these components creates an O-Ring that is virtually chemically inert and is compression resistant for use in harsh sealing environments
