EPDM rubber is a copolymer of ethylene, propylene and a small amount of third monomer non-conjugated diene, referred to as EPDM in English. EPDM has UV resistance, weather resistance, aging resistance, low temperature resistance, ozone resistance, chemical resistance, water erosion resistance, good insulation and elasticity, and it is resistant to Freon and a variety of refrigerants.

EPDM o-rings, or ethylene propylene o-rings, are a family of synthetic elastomers with lower cost steam and chemical resistance, particularly for applications involving solvents, acids and other mild chemicals.
