Buna-N 70 Shore A Rubber O-Rings

O-rings are the most widely used seal in history because of its simplicity, low cost, ease of installation and small space requirements. O-rings are designed for both static and dynamic applications. A properly designed O-ring groove allows the O-ring to be squeezed diametrically out-of-round even before the pressure is applied. The distortion of the O-ring’s resilient elastic compound fills the leakage path, thus, creating a seal.

Buna (or Nitrile) material is great for all but the most extreme applications. It works from -40-degrees F to 250-degrees F, and has good wear resistance. It works with oils but does not work with brake fluid, ketones, and some hydraulic fluids. It is not resistant to weathering, sunlight, and ozone unless a special compound is used. Standard or Imperial sizes come in fractions of an inch.
